Since founded by Eugène Meylan in 1914, Glycine has been manufacturing watches at its factory in Bienne, Switzerland. Meylan was a watch engineering who always strove for perfection and successfully proved so when in 1931 he presented the world with the superb self-winding watch. More than 20 years later, in 1953 the legendary Airman line was launched and immediately was sold by the thousands to the American armed forces. The design and features of this watch had been worked out in cooperation with pilots of military and civil aviation. Today, the Airman is considered the most emblematic watch of the Glycine collection, and many of its models have become the object of desire by watch aficionados and connoisseurs around the world.
