The Maurice Lacroix Aikon watch is based on another successful Maurice Lacroix design from the 1990s: the Calypso. The name Aikon is the phonetic representation of the English word icon. With a name like that, the watch must be truly iconic, and it is. The prominent case edge with contrasting 'arms' on the bezel is very typical of this model and has often been imitated.
